Luther lived in the old White House between St Bartholomew's Church and the motorway roundabout at Rainhill Stoops. Later he moved to Micklehead Farm. He had a milk round covering all of Sutton and Rainhill.
Little is known of his wartime service except that he was in France where his job was to take supplies to the front and then bring back the dead.
Luther is buried in St Ann's Churchyard, Rainhill.
