World War Two

The small plinth in front of the Cenotaph on Warrington Road holds the names of Rainhill servicemen and women who lost their lives in World War 2. Rainhill Civic Society Heritage Group is attempting to discover their stories and also of those who survived and add the information to this website.

​There were of course many people either from or connected with Rainhill who survived WW2 and we are slowly discovering further information. What information we have can be found via our WW2 Survivors page.

Little information is available related to Rainhillians who were involved in the 1939 - 1945 conflict, but the Rainhill Civic Society Heritage Group is attempting to discover their stories and add the information to this website.
