Charles was born in 1893 in Rainhill but lived in Driffield, East Yorkshire working on a farm.
His Attestment papers for 1 year's service in the Army Reserves are dated 1915 and signed at Driffield.
In July 1917 Charles gave his next of kin as his Mother, Annie of Ryehill near Hull. This is all the information that we have been able to find out about him so far.
